Helping Hens - Miss Green

Glorious sunshine spread over my Hull garden today.  A bit of sunshine and I feel the need to tidy and clean.

I started by cleaning out my chickens and letting them have run around.... to a different terraine at the other end of the garden.

This is Miss Green, she is a loud authoritarian sort of chicken.  Always leading the way, making the most noise and certainly the most mess!

The nearly ripe tomato plants took her fancy first. She was soon pecking at anything red looking.  Eventually kicking her heels in delight when the other girls saw her prize.

My chickens seem to have dog instincts!  They behave as if they are digging for bones, then promptly roll into the hole and have a luxurious mud bath.

The leaves are rather exciting too, crackling underfoot uncovering many hiding worms.

Our chickens are part of our family and aside from working for their keep they are very friendly animals.
